Nabs: The story so far.

Nalia: Demian has allowed a revolutionary change in government.

Nabs: Demian is no longer the de facto head of the Complex.

Nalia: Instead, cabinet changes occur whenever necessary instead of whenever the incumbent personality is messing things up spectacularly.

Nabs: Decisions are not made by majority–

Nalia: Hell is a democracy.

Nabs:  –But by the most qualified available entity.

Nalia: For the sake of the appearance of what the current Aeon calls sanity, we will all respond to Demian’s given name.

Nabs: But we will behave as we please. Within the parameters of society, of course.

Nalia: For now.

Nabs: For now.

The Summer Solstice, three gods, four magicians.

It works. We know that, but it keeps surprising us. Magic works.

Nalia: Or not.

Nabs: We’ve taken over, for today, at least.

Nalia: At any rate, Demian needed the vacation. He wasn’t kidding about the charmed existence bit. I don’t see what’s so hard about being him.

Nabs: Some anxiety about impending examinations. A few muscle pains.

Nalia: Big deal.

Nabs: We’ll try to get a few entries out when we can. Ciao boys.

Magic is real.

We know this because we’ve done what the writers and magicians and prophets have told us to do and it works. Grant Morrison said it best: this stuff works.

And now you know it’s real because it’s right in front of you. We won’t shirk into the shadows, or retreat to mountaintop hermitages, no. We live where you live, walk where you walk, breathe the same air you’re breathing.

We’ll show you what’s possible.

Via The Narthex:

1. Grab the nearest book.
2. Open the book to page 23.
3. Find the fifth sentence.
4. Post the text of the sentence in your journal…along with these instructions.

From Demian, by Herman Hesse:

Suddenly Demian laughed as if something had struck him as funny.

As I counted down, and saw that this was the 5th sentence, I laughed. Very nice. Only a few seconds into the future, but still qualifies as prophecy :)
